Fe

I am 22 but
My atomic number is 26

Does the 4 year difference
Make a difference?

On a good day, I boil at
2861 °C.
On a bad day,
I boil
When I look
At you.

No degrees needed there,
Of centigrade
Although I have one degree
Certified.

Higher and higher
I boil.
Until i rust
In the damp air.

Higher and higher
I rise
With my degrees
Centigrade
But my degree
Stops before I become
A Master.
Of the Arts.

More matter
And Less Art
Is what I am.

My grey matter
Is grey matter
Heavy
and
Ionic.

Ironic really,
That my grey matter is so hard
And heavy
But my grey matter is so soft
And
Vulnerable.

New stanza.
Pause.
"You look nice today", she said
With a faint smile.
Ironic.

New stanza.
Pause.
Is is ironic that this poem is not ironic?
Or is it?
Is it ironic that we ask
This?

Oh fleur, des fleurs that are mocking me
With
Pink
Purple
Yellow Snow.
Don't eat
Don't touch
Don't do that
Whatever, man.
The emo has spoken.

Like the Dinosaurs
We will one day
Fade
Into Fossils.

You.
Who study my bones
Will you understand
Why
I am missing
My Funny Bone?
And in place
I have
A Rod of Iron
-y.

Are you laughing?
Stop.
Don't laugh.
Pause.
Just look in the mirror
And tell yourself
"I look nice today"
With a faint smile
On your face.

Beginning.
